Default V6 with turbo?

Hey I was thinking of doing a performance mod on my GC. Was looking at adding a STS universal turbo system. Has anyone ever used them or know of someone who has? I saw the system used on the show rides on TLC one episode. Tell me what you think.

Thanks.

God, what a crock. Turbonator sucks.

That STS looks cool. I think your best bet would be to go to a great shop in your area and just see what they say. Install is a big part, and a quality shop with experience would know exactly what they're dealing with. If this is a good kit with the appropriate turbo for you, then I say giddyup.

If you really want to, I suggest calling a couple turbo companies and seeing if you can submit your car for the R&D.

KC, welcome to the forum, I'm glad you're looking into some power adder for your 3.7L, I guess you'll be the first if you decide to do this STS turbo mod to the 3.7L.
If you decide to do it, post a video of it, I would love to see this set up on the 3.7L, since nobody else here have been brave enough to experiment with their 3.7L.

And don't take any grief from other newbies here, they forget they were newbies themselves not too long ago.

TampaHeep, how about a little respect towards new members? Even if you were kidding, you scaring them away with yor smart-ass replies! How about welcoming them first and make this a better forum, the last thing we need here is for this to start to get like other forums. You're lucky I'm not a moderator, I would not have deleted your post but I would definitely had edited.

Well at least it was funny to you...
I've been reading some of your posts, at least you sound like you have a sence of humor.
BTW, nothing wrong with the 3.7L, other than being a little underpower when its coupled on the WK, but its a good engine overall, I just wish you guys had more of an aftermarket behind you. And I respect those that are willing to experiment with turbos and/or any other power adder on the 3.7L.

Smartass doesn't usually come across very well in text on the internet, FYI.

Well the sound of your voice really helps a "smartass" get by without a punch in the mouth. That's why the internet doesn't project it very well.

Have you looked into this any further?

sounds like a good deal, these are the guys who did the srt600 with hennessy, if you buy the universal kit, i believe that you will have to do alot of your own fabrication, like the pipe lining and stuff.... do you guys think that you would have to change the pistons and rods to add this kit running at 7 PSI ?

I know the Liberty pistons and rods can't handle forced induction, so assuming that those fundamental parts are the same in both engines, I'd say beef it all up.

It sounds like a cool mod, but in reality it would cost a ton to do right, if you put that turbo on the stock motor it won't last long. You would be better off buying a hemi crate motor and have that installed.
