WK screen job and extras

Hey guys.
Finally got some audio work done on the GC.
I know its not competition audio but it goes dam hard for me.
Clarion VX709 screen.
12" MTX w/ Schneider amp.

Let me know what you think.

Hey Bonz, just noticing you have the Mopar Sat Nav..........have you had many problems with it?

I'm onto my 3rd, possibly my 4th coming very soon!!!

Clean install on the Audio by the way. Have you got your new wheels yet?

Yep literally my 4th....or at least i'm trying to get the 4th on warranty at present. Don't really think there's much you can watch out for.
Mine have had a range of probs.......turning itself on and off repeatedly, Screen going completely black (or white) and staying that way, and bunch of other issues that i've forgotten as i've had the jeep 3 years.

Every time i take it back to the dealer to get it fixed, they say it's stuffed and give me a new one!

WOW....my GC is an 06 model and from what i know, the previous owner never had a problem, and i myself havent either.
very strange.
what year model is your commander? maybe its the newer ones that play up?

My Commander is an '06 as well. Got a call from the dealer yesterday, Chrysler approved a new Sat Nav under warranty. Only thing is, they've stopped making these Garmin ones (probably too many problems) so they're giving me a tomtom portable one.

Only problem with that is i either have to leave a nav on the dash that doesn't work or remove it and have drill holes exposed in the dash!

YOUR KIDDING....thats ridiculous bud...did u buy it from them brand new?
ive heard some bad things from dealerships....but thats just not right...

Don't get me started on dealerships! This is the smallest of problems reg dealership.....

You can read a whole lot worse in threads i've posted in diesel jeep section.

I bought the jeep new from York Motors in Rushcutters bay (Between Edgecliff and Kings Cross) and the Nav came new with it. They closed down about 18 months ago and moved operations to their new SUPER dealership, Suttons @ Roseberry. WORST service ever!

yeh im not doin to well with suttons roseberry either, thats where i have mine serviced.
im on the lookout for any garages that do jeep services tho..do you know of any quality ones???

I've been getting the guys @ http://www.goodspanner.com/ to do some stuff and i'm pretty happy with their work. Unfortunately a bit out of your way i'd say.

Unfortunately i'm tied to Suttons for the next few years because of extended warranty. I had some major issues with the jeep and took out extended warranty to cover my arse and if i take it anywhere else they'll void my warranty!

I really don't like Suttons, and i'll almost be glad when the extended warranty is up!

why so many problems with ur diesel???
ive heard of a few problems with the CRD diesel in the grand cherokee...
is it the same engine?

yeh as soon as i find another mechanic, im off!

Yep, same diesel engine. The main problem seems to be blow by re-entering the intake, plus there was a dodgy seal where the CCV pipe meets the intake tube that commonly split and leaks oil everywhere which in turn, burns out parts.

The dealer wasn't even aware there was an upgraded part for this! I had to tell them to get it and install it.

I've since added a catch can to try and minimise the problem. Only time will tell if it will work. The guys @ goodspanner did the install which you can see in the diesel section also.
