exhaust

im having my exhaust done friday, the stock exhaust come off the manifold and itno 3" pipes then down sized from 3 to 2 3/4 to 2.5.. so im having it cut at the 3 and going into a flowmaster mmuffler that goes in 3 and come out 2 2 1/2's then out the back into 2 3 inch tips ... i was screwing around and taped these old tips i had up to where im gonna have my exhaust come out just for a feel for it.. i was gonna do cut outs in the bumper right there where these are but the bumper mounting bracket is in the way...

thats gonna look real good. do you have to cut you bumper for sure? can u get a straight on rear shot? also do you have to remove the spare?

no im not gonna cut the bumper at all, thats how they will basicly mount, yes the spare has to be removed

heres a fast one i just snaped with my phone it kinda sucks il get better ones soon and a sound clip, it has the deepest throaty roar i have ever heard, but its way clean sounding too i spent 500 on it all for everything and sounds and looks alot better than that pricy exhaust system u just buy from flowmaster and magnaflow, it is a flowmaster 40 series muffler... i love it

of course i got dual!! haha i have a guy that does freaking amazing work. I just didnt like the look of just one pipe... thats just me though, i need to know how to put up a sound clip cuz this thing sounds so damn mean its ridiculous.... There saying i gained over 25hp with the exhuast setup and i sure can feel it!

Dude, that's crazy... Duals just wouldn't work out on a V6, I don't think... I can't wait for the audio.

Yeah, that looks sweet. It's right in line with a lot of the Borla kits that you see, especially on the H2. Looks great.

Where did you get that plate cover? I want that for both ends.

i wanted them farther apart too, but for the max power it was to run them as striaght as that...

Sounds sick, Im hoping to get my exhaust done this week. Is that a 40series flowmaster, If not which muffler is it? I was lookin at getting the Super40.

you can, they just gotta be really wide, iv seen it done before. i would do duals on my ZJ too but i dont like the super wide look. but i must say that in your drift video, the exhaust sounds reallly nice!! GJ on that!

I've seen zjs with them but the pipe on the drivers sides are always hanging down, way lower than
the right side

V6...

It wouldn't sound good. It would have no backpressure (a good thing, I know) and would sound horrible. Drone galore, and a overall bad sound. My V6 has a 20 inch Magnaflow muffler and it's got a decent grumble and tone. I wouldn't think of putting a dual exhaust on it, only to have a crappy sound.

For you, you have some decent performance stuff on there, so maybe it's different for you. I was referring to a more or less stock V6 with that comment.

I had a Borla on my 4.3L Chevy V6 and it droned quite a bit on the highway. I had the interior sound dampened though so when the windows were closed it wasn't too bad.

Its a shame you can't run a true dual exhaust on that 4.0 I6. Hopefully I'll have my stainless steel magnaflow exhaust on by May or June.

Yes you can run a true dual. There is a header That you can get in "Essentials For Jeep Vehicles" mag that has two headers for the I6. A head per 3 cylinders
