I can't speak for an exhaust, but I can notice a difference with the intake. Now its not throw you back into your seat difference, its small, but its there, especially once I hit around 60 mph then it really seems to kick in.

Yes, with exhaust and intake you will feel a difference. That will be a combined 12 HP gained atleast. It will definately give you the "butt dyno" affect.

Well this is good to know, because I'm planning on exhaust and intake myself!

My intake comes tomorrow, and my exhaust comes next week. I'm expecting 200 HP gains, and not a pony less.

My K&N has been installed for a month and the Magnaflow cat-back will be installed next week when it comes in.

I've noticed a small improvement with the K&N and expect the addition of the cat-back will be much more noticable.

Remember to disconnect the battery so the computer will reset to the new flow conditions.......

Hammer on.......... Blair

Also i think im gunna buy another camera cuz iv been looking and i cant find the damn thing...

Those nerf bars would look better if they were tucked way up in there, really close to the bottom of the Jeep. Hanging down, or appearing like they hang, makes them look awkward.

It's currently 1:15 AM and I will be up at 7 AM to install the CAI that I received via UPS and the good folks at Performance Peddler. I need to be in work at 9 AM, so I hope it can be an hour job and be done with it. Can't wait for a little extra umph, and I am calling for an exhaust appointment!

As a side note, the place I am going to has made headers for the SRT8 WK, so they're quite the quality shop. Badass, for lack of a finer word.

I have wireless internet in my hotel room here in Orlando... so whenever you get those pics up I'll be able to see them. And I'm w/ Blackattack... if the nerf bars are close to the bottom of the Jeep and truely give it a lower profile look then I'll buy them, but I wont like them if they hang down or stick out too much.

I installed my intake this morning, and I'm very happy with it. I like the hiss, and I feel a little more in the power. The exhaust will help big time. The install was okay; the instructions are tough to follow. It took me about 1H 45 M to do the whole job, which meant I called in work to be an hour late. Anyway, I'm happy and the Performance Peddler discount (jeepsrock) worked well.

Nice. I want some now...if you get any full side shots, please post them. Would look cool to add a light are two to work when you open the door to see the bar like those on the expeditions.

I wonder if those would protect from assholes opening their doors into the side of your Jeep

i dont think so, but i have some little scratches on the door , but u cant tell unless u get up close and reaaaaaly pay attention to it... that S**T pissis me off and, and i try so hard to park away from other cars but for some reason they end up parking next to me .... but any ways back to the main subject of this TOPIC. Will i really save some gas from the intake and the exhaust? danmmm it i wish i had the money right now cuz im going crazy for some performace parts.. TOKYO DRIFT... not a bad movie, it actually motovates u to put some crazy mods to ur ride.

do you need headers to make that 12HP you said street? or just the factory head's with new exhaust? cuz heads are expencive, and expencive to install...

blackattack182
06-23-2006, 11:49 AM
No, just the intake and exhaust should make 15 HP at the right RPMs. Since the K&N 63 maxes HP at 5,100 RPM, and that's 7.35 HP, and the exhaust on top of that, it should hit 15 HP at some point in the powerband.

12 HP from just the exhaust would be sweet.

haha, yea, thnx for clearing that up.

I decided to romp on the gas pedal today because I drive so little to work so I figured, "What's a little extra gas here and there..." So I floored it and it hauled ass to 60 MPH. I was pretty surprised. I never revved it that high before (hit 6,000 RPM, which is redlining) and it kept pulling right through, no lag, and hit 5,000 in second gear, at which point I let off because I was at 65 MPH in a 45 MPH zone and didn't need any more adrenaline boosts.

In conclusion, the K&N is a good unit for the V6's and has great benefits.

Thats tight man, you should get it dyno'd.

blackattack182
07-04-2006, 06:43 PM
Maybe, I should call up the shop that did my exhaust and see if they have a dyno there. They do custom headers and stuff (they're the ones that people are doing Group Buys for on the SRT8 headers) so I suppose they have a dyno to test all their crap out.
