so today i was checking clearences for my custom exhuast im doing, and decided to unbbolt the mufller and back pipe so i had a striaght shot right after the cats... haha it was loud and sounded way mean...
anyways, im doing a 3 inch exhaust into a flowmater muffler, then two 3 inch pipes comin out that mullfer and back over where the stock one ran, and then dual pipes out the back with cut outs in the bumper along with stanless tips to make it all look flush and kind of stock...
i should be doing this mod by the end of the month... its gonne be awsome

That's going to look sick, dude. Have you done any Photoshops of the exhaust, what you think it's going to look like? Also, have you already dropped the spare tire or are you going to make a maze of pipes?
This thing is going to sound badass. Make sure you get a quality recorder!
You should pick up a bumper like this one. It's made by Decoma. I have no idea how you would get in touch with them... They have a website, but I don't know where the auto parts section is.

ya im definatly dropping out the spare, im not sure if i like this bumper or not.. i think it will look better just to cut mine and have the tips flush and not sticking out too much ya know?
Blackattack me and you kinda have the same taste's haha i like that its tight, ya i will for sure get some soud clips up!

i might do that spoiler now that i see it on this jeep, looks kinda cool

THAT spoiler is the business. The Mopar one is a joke in comparison.
Yeah, definitely similar tastes. The flush look (dare I say similar to the Hyundai Tucson?) is really nice, especially if you pick a sweet oval tip.
Check out the extension on this Decoma spoiler:

I actually contacted Decoma about these parts. Here is their response.
"I can direct you to your local dealership who can issue a purchase order to
the appropriate supplier for a dealer-direct shipment.
Thank you for contacting us through: info@decoma.com"
I guess you can only order these direct from your dealer. Not too sure how many would be receptive given they all sell Mopar accessories. Have been thinking about contacting Peter at Justforjeeps but haven't done so yet. I'm really interested in the Decoma spoiler over Mopar's.

The spoiler isn't the first thing I'd grab... I'd ask which House of Kolors paint they went with. Second, I'd want to know about their grille, and finally the rear bumper. Then the spoiler.

thats not the mopar spoiler?

Whatever got blanked out, you nailed it. That's a poor job, but leads the mind in the imagination direction. Should look sweet, especially since you're beating all the aftermarket companies to the punch.
That's not the muffler showing in the pic with the bumper, that's just a piece of the rollpan so you DON'T see the muffler. That would probably look pretty cool. Those tips wouldn't have to stick out that far, either. Lop an inch or two off those pipes and pull them back in, and that would be a sick looking setup.

ya it will look good, il have the tips stick out no more than 1cm from the bumper. so there almost completly flush with it

That'll be a very nice exhaust setup.
One request: can we get some real pics of your Jeep that aren't photoshopped to look dark or old-fashioned?
blackforce5
05-06-2006, 06:58 PM
that one on that back isnt photoshoped at all, the one with the tips is, the color is off on the tip ones cuz i made the tips more silver cuz they were gold lookin,... but the top one has nothing done to it at all
blackforce5
05-06-2006, 07:03 PM
that pic is really how dark my back end is, no lie, nothing has been done to that pic at all

Right I heard ya the first time... and I understand your Jeep is black but the pictures were taken with very bad lighting.
It looks like its after sunset, you can't tell the difference between tailgate, bumper & ground.

05-07-2006, 01:14 AM
il get another one up soon
blackforce5
05-07-2006, 12:36 PM

How much is a plate cover like that? I would like to pick up a pair of them to continue the black trend.
blackforce5
05-08-2006, 01:22 AM
shit u could make one, i have a friend that makes these outta all different shades of black.. all it is is black plexi... just cut it to size and round the corners... drill some holes ur ready to go
FlyinLo
05-08-2006, 11:38 PM
182, they sell those at auto parts stores or walmart. Online too, obviously...
When I first got the Jeep I asked a cop about plate covers and he said ANY obstruction was illegal. Guess that's technically the NH law, but I think I might be able to get away with one until a cop having a bad day drives behind me.

If I get in trouble for any kind of tinting thing, I would have it stripped and/or removed on the spot, if possible. If I get the headlight covers, I would pop them off immediately. If I got the tint ticketed, I would see how much the ticket is before I rip that off, but I would take care of it. As for the plate covers, I'm going to get a screwdriver set for the Jeep and I will remove the cover with the cop's supervision if there was a problem. Hopefully my willingless would buy me me points (or save me from points, whichever is the good one).

i just bought a smoked plate cover at autozone... it was like $5 and looks good!

I think I may pick one up too, my chrome one is starting to show it's age.

I'm going to look into some covers too. I don't know if I want to try to make one if they are so cheap from Auto Zone.

Yeah, I'm not sure where you would buy black plexiglass either. I've only seen clear stuff at Home Depot.

I guess that's the downfall of living in those "back roads."
There was one in the parking lot at work the other day... Those damn valet parking kids get to drive some nice whips.

That blue GC was donated to my body shop at school Washtenaw community college in ann arbor, michigan. I am in their Custom cars and concepts program. The GC is so beat up now its sad if you saw it now the paint is chipped off with dents and scratches all over we use it for remove and install demos so the front clip just hangs on. Check out some of our work http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPtefSc7jys

^I agree, but if you look really close they appear to be stick-on fascia. That combined with the outrageous price turned me off... You're right though, it's a great look.
As I understand it, the WK2 (new WK Jeep) will have an optional dual-exit exhaust which will look something like this.

i love the new WK Jeep. it has sick options. i just wish i had the $ to buy one when it comes out
