Wow, I don't know why the heck I waited so long. Got the Jet Performance Chips Stage-2 ECU Upgrade. Holy ballz of a camel Batman! What a difference. The idle, acceleration, launch, stall launch, highway acceleration, torque, with the proper upgrades the chip just completes the package. Thanks to Mario, and the guys who did their posts on previous links. The part number is, 90412S, and cost me $250.00 next day pick up at the local parts store. I also did the Jet Performance Low Temp Stat Thermostat, part number 10183 to complete the upgrade for $35.00 next day pick up as well. The module clicked right in nice and firmly, no ECU errors, or problems, perfect fit no sanding, the thermostat took 15 minitues, had the local shop install it for me and replace the coolant fluid lost. All in all very happy.

Make sure it really is seated in there well; you should be able to see a tab on the top of the module and make sure that's hooked in really tightly. Mine came loose in the first few miles and needed some sanding.

Great to hear all your good feedback. Did you use 93 already, have you started, or no?

Yeah she seems to be in there good, it clicked really loud and went in firm and smooth in one motion, same for the harness. No problems so far, just the usuall normal check engine light for the o2 sensor. Error, P-2098 lol I've got it memorized lol. Are there any high temp sensors out there for these things? Or aftermarket ones?

Nice... I'm definitely a fan of the Stage II myself.

You really think the chip made that much of a difference? I have one and all it did was let the engine rev higher...

He's got a lot of unique engine mods in there so it probably makes them all work a little harder and show off their stuff.

The HEMI mabey responds differently? I just added the MOPAR SRT-8 intake and holy crap!

Who knows I might be a little quicker & faster this time... got to look good at the MOPAR NATIONALS! :burnzout::burnzout:

And I know you are doing your stuff also. Hey remember... no internal engine work on mine...! ;)
Good luck...!

What nitrous system you thinking of going with.....my understanding is the ZEX kit is the one to go with for the Hemi engine.

Anyone know what Part # for Autozone / NAPA etc. for a Motorad/Valuecraft 180 degree t-stat. I went today to look and they didnt have anything for "Chrysler" 5.7L engines. But we all know that doesnt mean anything.

Thanks!

P.S. - I have the Stage 1 chip and I felt a difference. Someone in another thread said they called JET and 89 will work but it is better at 91 or higher. I dont know where you live but 89 is 3.15 a gallon and we have few 91 pumps, all 93 around here. Still think its worth the upgrade for me?

What's up Tom..!
Check this out...
Motorad/Valuecraft 4128 180° thermostat (This is the one I have).
Motorad/Valuecraft 4127 170° thermostat. I would go with this one now if I had to do it all over again, but the 180º seems to be the fovorite af the LX guys.
Autozone carry both of this.

Here's a video that shows how to change it without spilling a drop. Is not a jeep, but is a Charger with a 5.7L, all you need to do is remove the air intake tube that'll be in the way, other than that is pretty much the same.

View full screen for better results and turn the speakers on, you might hear a cat meowin in the background lol.
Enjoy...

NOW UP FOR SALE!!

innerreflection

so im interested in getting either a stage 1 or stage 2.

I personally do not want to change from regular gas and wouldnt mind going to mid grade so im not sure that stage 2 is for me .

with the 22's and the big o' system im currently getting about 13.5 to 14 mpg and thats usually doing stop and go on highway or maybe 80mpg .

right now have the k&n aircharger and also my exhaust is done.

what would make sense to do ?

also does it change the mpg at all?

btw mine is the 4.7 v8

ModernStapler
06-04-2007, 11:20 PM
i have the 4.7 V8 too and its a definite buy. Get the stage 2...theres no real point in getting the stage one if your worried about what kind of gas to use since it says right on the jet site that "for best results use premium" meaning...its NOT required

i use premium every here and there but there is no problem with 87 or 89 or whatever it is you wanna use

MPG isnt all that noticeable, if anything youll be flooring it more so it will go down...ha

i say buy it!!!

innerreflection
06-05-2007, 09:47 AM
are there any check engine lights with the stage 2 chip?
if i used regular gas would i still see better results from what i have now or would it cause problems?

and this low temp thermostat do i have to get this at all? is there that much difference that stock therm wont be able to cool it down enough.

blackattack182
06-05-2007, 01:01 PM
When Stage II is installed correctly, you will not get any CELs.

ModernStapler
06-05-2007, 03:52 PM
the low temp thermostat is not required...at least im not using it

when you as better results are you asking performance? or mpg?

performance is improved a lot in my opinion, most noticable is when the car shifts, and the downshifts

innerreflection
06-05-2007, 04:05 PM
well im guessing the mpg will go down.
as far as results will i see a diff using the chip and sticking with regular gas ?
or will something go wrong if i do use regular gas like improper shifts or stalling or something like that

ModernStapler
06-05-2007, 08:08 PM
nope...everything will work just fine with regular gas!

mine works FLAWLESS

innerreflection
06-06-2007, 08:15 PM
im planning on getting this stage 2 jet chip model number 90402S

i just want to make sure you dont need to use the temp thermostat and high ocatane fuel cuz the websites say its required.

also anyone know where the cheapest place is it get this.

i found one for $239

just updated my 4.7 with the stage 2 and i will say its a required upgrade if you have heavy rims. great shift points and only use 87 octane fuel

Let us know if your fuel economy drops

innerreflection
06-23-2007, 11:41 PM
actually it has gone up so far and it goes up much quicker than before but ill have to test it more

FlyinLo
06-24-2007, 02:23 AM
Do you keep track of your mileage?

What kind of difference are you talking about?

How is the shifting? If you're cruising on the highway and you floor it, will it hunt through each gear until it finds the correct one or will it now drop straight into the correct gear?

blackattack182
06-24-2007, 08:53 AM
I think you need a flash before it really starts dropping to the correct gear automatically. The transmission mapping on these Jeeps is set for fuel economy, so unless you totally change it's setup, it's not going to shift the way we want.

The JET chip does hold gears longer, in my experience, and is quicker to downshift until it hits the right gear...

For anyone that wants a really cheap JET chip, just use the ERS.

innerreflection
06-24-2007, 11:11 AM
well normally i get about 13 and maybe if im lucky ill get 14mpg. i only test drove it for about an hour yesterday and it was already rising up to 15. either way im very please with the results.

FlyinLo
06-24-2007, 11:48 AM
182, you have a different engine, transmission and 4wd system so to be brutally honest(no offense) I really couldn't care less what the Jet chip does to your 3.7L

I'm interested in how it worked with innerreflection's 4.7L WK and if it changed the awful shift program.

Inner, that's pretty awful mileage for the 4.7 -- Over 32,000 miles I'm averaging 16.7mpg. So, any change in the downshifting?

ModernStapler
06-24-2007, 12:45 PM
i have the 4.7....WJ though...but the downshifting is sexy...but its constantly 'learning' so i fyou drive it really easy for a while...then the downshifts are a bit slower...if you drive it semi aggressive (i dont mean flooring it everywhere) then it will always just BAM downshift...

there was a maxima that was drivin by me on the highway...and the second he passed me i floor it and i just TOOK OFF...he turned his head and everything...i stayed with him goin like 95 for 5 or 6 minutes...and slowed down

passed him 20 minutes later with a pretty policeman behind him...heh

innerreflection
06-24-2007, 02:36 PM
well i have a huge ass system and heavy rims which i know for a fact destroyed my mileage.
it runs much smoother on the road.

no abrupt shifts and when it downshifts its tends to drift longer on that gear if you get what i mean.
the exta HP that i got makes it seem like i dont even have the weight in it so im excited.
im still looking at the changes since i have not driven it very long so this week as i drive about 60miles a day ill be able to futher explain it.

also just from changing from regular gas to mid (87) i have notices a smoother ride but it definatly has less stall that i had.

ill keep you posted though

FlyinLo
06-24-2007, 09:23 PM
87 is midgrade where you live? 87 is regular in NH.

chicago, lol

innerreflection
06-25-2007, 12:13 PM
hmm so today driving my usual 80mph i have gone up from maybe 13 maybe 14 to about 15 mpg. not to bad and the responce is much better.

im not all that thrilled about the down shifting because if there is traffic it will hold that gear longer with less engine braking which im used to.

although still happy with the results

FlyinLo
06-25-2007, 12:38 PM
I wonder if the Jeep would spontaneously combust if you hit the ESP button with the stage 2 chip in there.

innerreflection
06-25-2007, 10:26 PM
correction just hit 15.4 mpg .. not bad
