Street, can you update mine on the list, that was my previous best E/T, my current best now is 14.3 at 94MPH in the 1/4 with a 60' of 2.086, you can also add a "T" for the 180º T-stat, I'll post the timeslip as soon as I can scan it.
Thanks!
Edit: Damn... I didn't even know we had this section on the forum. You might have to update my E/T one more time in the future.

Wow... that trap speed seems way too high for a 14.49 run on a stock WK.
Ohh if you are running a stock PCM, 130 octane wouldn't do anything for you since you are running the stock timing curve. And I don't know by you but all the tracks where I raced 130 is leaded and that would get your cats shot pretty quick, I just hope that the 130 you put in is unleaded, which I haven't seen anywhere yet.
Is this based on those electronic units like a G-Tech or on an actual 1/4 mile track? If it is an actual track run, I would love to see the timeslip for comparison purposes.
BTW, what's a Tornado Air Mod?

The "vortex-creating" intake insert that does nothing but slow down air flow.
I'm guessing he was screwing around. 97 MPH is pretty fast, 130 octane is ridiculous (probably around $20 a gallon) and no one buys the Tornado fuel saver.

the tornado air mod is a little metal thing that sits inside your air intake pipe and swirls the air around thats sucked in to be more effective in use. it savs me 3-4 mpg and its "supposed" to give u 10-12 hp, but thats BS... i save 2-3 mpg and i personally cant see any HP difference
the 130 octane was put in by my friend at maple grove raceway, we bled my tank down to below Empty at the track and he put in 2 1/2 galons of 130 octane just to see what it would do- he paid for it, and actually it only cost $17 for the 2 1/2... NOT $20 a gallon.
and incase u didnt know, when u increase the octane rating on a car that is used to 89 or 87.... to 130, you see HUGE differences! 130 octane is lighter, more combustable and closer to legitimate "racing fuel". Stock timing curves are influenced because the truck gets more of a kick to the pistons than its expecting.
And i dont expect there to be any damage to my WK after 2 1/2 gallons of high octane fuel.... if there is jeep doesnt deserve to make vehicles. I ran it at maple grove raceway, in Maplegrove PA. when i got there i took out my spare tire, jack, and all safety equip.. Just so u know that stuff weighs up to 100 lbs, so theres a diff there. My WK weighed 100-150 lbs less than yours. i dont have the time slip because i dont keep those kind of things, but im going down again in 2 weeks so i'll keep that on for ya.

There's a "we need to see it to believe it" policy here.
Until you can produce a legitimate timeslip don't bother bragging that you have the quickest Jeep.
As far as the tornado goes... c'mon man. just.... c'mon.
If the girl at Pep Boys who convinced you to get the tornado wasn't very cute... and you didn't get her number... you got completely hosed.
I don't mean to offend you, but the tornado thing is one of those running jokes that got old a long time ago. Do a quick google and you'll see. Popular Mechanics tested out a bunch of those cheapo products with ridiculous claims and none of them helped a bit. Except of course, for the weight decrease... in your wallet.

flyinlo, where was a bragging i have the fastest jeep? i saw the forum, and i posted my response. mad respect to everyone that pulls a 14.3 1/4 mile, but i think people are getting a lil to hostile. im looking for my timeslip now, and if i dont find it im taking a day off tomorrow to go down to the track so i'll post one by tomorrow night. and the tornado may be a cheapo mod, but it works for me. chill out guys.
QBNKID
05-06-2007, 11:53 PM
Rugby, I hope you're not referring to me also on the hostile part.
Re-read my thread, tell me if I was hostile at any time, all I questioned was your 97MPH top end on a 14.4 run. Originally you did not mentioned if it was at a track or with a G-Tech or similar. I also said that I hoped the 130 was not leaded because it can damage your emissions system, cats mostly, don't believe me ask an expert about using at least 2 1/2 gallons of leaded gas on this engines. Maybe you did not know... I was just giving you advice not to keep running that 130, I thought I was being helpful letting you know the facts and wouldn't like to see your jeep or anybodies with problems because I didn't say something. If you think its BS what I'm saying to you... please... go ahead and run it.
Like I said before, you'll be able to run higher octane efficiently if you modify your timing tables. I was able to run premium and 100 octane after I installed the Jet Stage II module, the few times I have used 100 octane I haven't notice much gains from premium gas, maybe a tenth at times or so.
BTW, I’m not an expert but I know pretty well how different octane fuels combust, and what's lighter and what's not, but thanks.
Like I said... I want to see the time-slip for comparison purposes and see if I can figure out that high top-end mph on a 14.4 run. No disrespect but I have never seen a stock jeep 5.7L running a 14.4 and much less with such a high mph, if you did probably you had a hell of a tail wind that's all I can think of, I doubt the tornado the 130 octane or the weight reduction did that for you. But if you did my respects and you have a heck of a factory speed freak jeep.
Mad props to you for taking a 5.7L jeep to the track, we have been few, I hope you keep taking it and see even better results.
Hey, if not too far from you why don't you come to E-Town on the weekend of May 18, 19 and 20 for the huge MOPAR event taking place during those days, some guys from this forum are going including myself and it would be great to see another 5.7L WK there as well.
We already have a list of close to 70 LX cars and jeeps that are going.
I hope you can make it at least one of those days.

All the girls at my Pep Boys are ugly, butch, or downright cavewomen. Blechhkk...
Octane boosts like that don't do anything for these highly computerized engines. They'll work wonders on a carburetor, but not with the fuel injection. An engine like the HEMI isn't expecting 130 octane, so it's not going to have a fuel map optimized for it. It will be interpreted just as well as 89 would, which is recommended. It may help with some knocks along the way, but other than that, you're kidding yourself.
And if you think 130 octane and a 150 lb diet cut 1.1 seconds off your quarter mile time, that's pretty far out there too. By all means, I hope you did do it, because I'd go out there with a Sawz-All now and get to work, but it's a stretch like Armstrong.

haha...130 octane will NOT give you more power....infact, you probably lost power with that...
not only that, but im sure that fuel was leaded, because i cant think of any 130octane that is unleaded....so im sure your o2 sensors just love you...
and the higher octane means it is less prone to detonation

Higher octane does NOT give you more power....DO NOT BUY INTO THE HYPE!
it allows for more power to be created with a more aggressive tune...(IE...more boost/timing ect)
