Well so far my exhaust and intake are amazing for response and well runs soo much smoother.
BUT the mpg blows! right now my 4.7 is about 12.3-13.9 and thats street/highway. im impressed with the intake but even talking to K&N techs they dont suggest like the tornado fuel saver in there.
I was looking at the stage 1 jet chip but it really doesnt say anything about if it will help out with mpg neither does it say exactly how much it helps with hp.
Any suggestions to help my mpg ?
is the jet chip a good investment ?
lastly should i just wait for a power programmer which will also help with my 22's .
thanks

well if i remmeber right....it says something about the jet chip actually reducing mpg.....but not positive...
seems to make sense though...cuz your staying in gear longer at higher RPMS...and its adding more power which takes more fuel to run...
again though..not positive...

Wow... exhaust and intake... and you're only getting 12.3-13.9 avg. My brother's stock WK with the 4.7 gets better than that. Maybe it's the way you drive... too hard on the throttle? I would think with your upgrades... you'd get 15-16mpg avg. with little highway mileage.
Maybe the 22s are throwing off your mpg also. Are you using the Jeep to figure out your average mpg or are you doing the math yourself?
I wouldn't recommend that tornado thing either... I know someone who bought it... no improvement. The chip might help a little bit... I've only purchased the Stage IIs though. The programmer would do the same thing as the chip... and help recalibrate your speedometer. That's if you're okay spending the 300 bucks or so on one.
Anyone out there with a Stage I? You should be able to find a used one cheap on ebay to save yourself some money. Good luck man. I'd say do research on a programmer.

actually im just going off of what the jeep says my mpg is . but it may be thrown off by the intake. well when i spoke with the k&n tech he said that at least 2 mpg will go down when you get the intake. i really dunno and well the 22's are not on now but will be later

I have the 3.7 and I only get 15-16 in the city with my exhaust, intake and 22's. So I'd say that was alright.
As far as the Jet Chip u2u blackattack182... Although he has the 3.7 he should be able to tell you if there was an increase in mpg.

If you want to go for a real fuel saver, I think B&G Chrysler has a Fuel Miser flash for the computers. I think I've read it on their site. Although it would pay out in the long long run, the $300 or $400 for the flash can buy a lot of gas.

Since I Added my Intake/Exhaust my MPG has gone up from 13's to 15-16 and thats with spirited driving, try driving a little nicer and I bet your MPG will go up. And its a 4.7 aswell.

see, i want to get a new muffler, but i know that i wont be able to keep my foot out of it, so im holding off. It will help with flow and what not but in the end, probably not because i'll just want to hear it all the time haha. Im sitting at like 10-13 MPG completely stock.

You've got an 11 year old car; that kind of mileage, plus a V8 made when fuel was cheap, forms a good recipe for gallon guzzler.

Try keeping your cruising rpms under 2 grand. Your optimal crusing speed on the 4.7 should be 55mph (which should be sitting just under 2 grand). That's when my WJ and my brother's WK do their best. Try that out.
What are your RPMs are when you're doing 80?

The temperature is more interesting than the RPMs. Damn, 1 single degree. My area's around that temp, but only with the wind chill.
