so i got my intake and installed it, and then was lookin at it and decided to make a piece that continues off the heat shield and right to the grill to give a somewhat of a ram air effect right into the airbox... heres some pics

the sound isnt so great on this clip but the intake has a deep growl to it u can really hear it sucking the air as well

Removing that plastic piece has been discussed on JU. The concensus is that the piece is probably there for a reason... one being to keep water out and prevent vapor lock. I've been very very tempted to rip that thing off, but risking the engine for a negligible gain in airflow isn't worth it for me.

Intake looks nice... What engine do you have? It looks like you have pics there from three different engines. Also, which pic is yours?

to install the intake on the 4.7 like i have u have to remove all the airbox componients including that plastic piece... thats why i made the piece that i made.. all the pics are mine black..

they can't do that. it's called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty (google it)

WOW thats a huge description, but see what if i get this and then something goes wrong with the engine. they will say its due to the intake. how would this warranty cover it

The thing is, they have to prove that the part you installed directly caused the problem or else they cannot void your warranty.

inner, if you were worried about what I said about vapor lock I was only referring to cutting off the plastic piece behind the grille for a cheap-n-easy "ram-air" mod.

oh no i wasnt its just that the dealer when i asked them they stated that its a mod to the engine and would void warranty if anything went wrong with the engine which apperently is bs

That service manager must be a real dick to enforce a policy like that.
