Ok so I was looking at a Flex-A-Lite battery driven fan to replace the current hp-robbing belt driven fan that I have right now. The problems I'm having are that I don't know what size I can use (dimensions needed), whether to get pusher or puller (which is better), and how to uninstall the current fan and then install the Flex-A-Lite. Could anyone help me out here??

Is this the radiator fan you're talking about?

I didn't even know you could take that load off the engine.
If you find anything, let us know!
Is that belt independent or is it attached to other accessories too

I think its attached to other things so I might have to get like a smaller belt or something.

Yeah, that might be a deal breaker right there. Might have trouble finding the right length.

Another cool option would be a fan that is driven by the rear wheels. You know how some scooters have a light that works only when the scooter is going, because it has a generator-thing attached to the wheel? We should get the same thing. I guess that battery one would work too.

only problem with that is when you need the fan the most is when your going slow or stopped, and thats when the wheeles are moving the slowest...

Most cars come with a belt driven fan thats connected to the engine.
I'm going to call Flex-a-Lite this weekend and see if they can help me.

If he's coasting down a hill at night he has no light thumbdown

It shouldn't be that difficult of a mod to change to an electric fan. I think most import racers (Honda, Acura, etc) have electric fans. I wonder how much hp this would free up.

if its enough, id do it. but nothing beats when my temp gauge gets over 210 and the fan stays on till 4K rpm, it gives me goosebumps its soo cool.
Push or pull depends on where you have room to install the fan. Current fan will unbolt with 4 bolts, no need to remove pulley or change the belt. The HP gain you get is small, but it does help in combination with other mods you might do (exhaust, intake, so on).

Ok thanks. But if you remove the pulley and get a smaller belt, wouldnt that give u an even bigger gain?

probably not since the pully is doing nothing basically with no fan, but im no expert.

i know im digging up an old thread but i have some good answers for you guys. on a jeep the fan will always be a puller because you mount it inside the engine bay, also the pulley that drives the fan is usually the pulley that drives the water pump, hence it needs to remain. also underdrive pulleys dont make every pulley smaller, they make some larger in fact, so that you can maintain your belt size and so that there is less stress on the crankshaft. there. done
